The formal awards system is linked to the achievement of targets in years 1 to 6. The awards cover areas such as attendance, time- keeping, behaviour, sporting and academic success. Years 1 – 4 will be given awards for achieving interim targets at Christmas and at the end of the academic session. The introduction of the Educational Maintenance Allowance will add a further dimension to this initiative for S5/6 students.
The awards will be presented at formal ceremonies and will be managed by the PT Guidance (Achievement and Attainment). Students who are consistently well-behaved etc., will be invited to take part in certain reward activities. Provision will also be made to recognise outstanding achievement in any field/service to the school and/or wider community.
A formal Awards Ceremony will be held at the end of the academic year.
